Many readers in the world of Mibba won’t recognize Maggie or her flourishing story, but I implore everyone sceptical pair of eyes to stop by LittleSilverCompass and take a peek at her story. Originally posted on Quizilla, Maggie moved over to Mibba and began to edit her story into the new and improved ‘Summer Skies and Ocean Eyes’.

The story follows Calico, a small town girl, as she is plucked out of Michigan and placed into the bustling world of Naples, Florida. Living with her mom’s boyfriend, Jon, and their kids, Calico tries to adjust while she overcomes her homesickness. With characters such as Kendall, Jon’s stuck-up daughter and Poot, a blonde haired beauty who is more than kind to Calico when she moves into town, there is not much you can’t love about this story.

But the core of the story doesn’t like with Poot’s lack of attention to personal space or Kendall’s brick wall of snob, but with the late night ocean and one boy, Tommy, who probably needs Calico more than anyone would guess.

This story is filled with humour and jokes, juxtapositions in characters’ personalities, and those little touching and sad moments where you feel as if you’re standing in the scene, watching on. Maggie manages to bring this story to real life as we tag along with Calico and her new life in Naples.

Every good author doesn’t come without flaws and in Maggie’s haste to post, there are always spelling or mechanical errors in each chapter. But the story is so magnificent that your eyes may just skim over them and see them as so insignificant.

Take a dive into muggy Naples and step into Calico’s shoes as she starts her new life in a new world that it miles and miles away from her Michigan. With Poot’s sexy smile and bright eyes and Tommy’s heart tucked so far away, you’ll be hanging on at the end of each chapter. Summer Skies and Ocean Eyes gets eight beach boys out of ten.

"Writing…is my life. I love writing so much that I tend to disregard everything else that’s happening in the world just to spend time with myself and my characters. Sometimes I wish I could be “normal” and then I realize that being who I am, and what I am, makes me special because, if I think really hard on it, I know myself. I know every little thing that there is to know about me because tiny bits of my persona are in every last stinking one of my characters. I’ve been wounded with very few negative comments and have grown from them, maturing as both a person and a writer. There’s no substitute for the rush of getting comments on a story, or the serenity of being alone with people that aren’t real. I know that I have potential; I just really want other people to see it too."
